Autumn Picnic..

A Picnic at the Hilltop,we are having some good days with sunshine!I love to sit in the grass,(on a little blanket because the grounds are very wet after the rain) eat and just... enjoy!
The flavors and colors become etched in your mind, along with the experience of a lovely day spent in nature.
So why confine picnics to warm weather? Even though winter is soon to arrive, a crisp fall day is a great excuse to invite friends to an afternoon meal. While a summer picnic should consist mostly of cold or room-temperature food, a fall picnic should include something hot. It could be soup in a thermos if you are far afield or a mostly hot meal if you are close to home.
THIS is a great Yammy food blog for perfect picnics...
And take your umbrella, just in case.....

Good luck with your book, I hope the children enjoy it. You must tell us more when you are able. Have a pleasant stay in Spain.

hello, dutchess, I was sure I'd left a message on this post for you yesterday - but then I was having problems with the verification letters! Silly me:) I think what I said was how I loved the Tissot painting and that we were going to eat our evening meal outside last evening, which we did and it was lovely- just what we had wanted to do in the Summer:) I see from your comments from Fern and Valerie that you are writing a book - how wonderful!

I love the picture and so relaxed. Picnics are very popular here and also held in the winter when possible. As a dutch person I really had to learn to relax and sit for hours like the people do here
