I am not the same....

He came back...from a far away land..and is now singing in the hedgerow..
The Robin who visits me in Winter is not the same as in Summer..he flies all the way over from Scandinavia..to the Hilltop!!!
I find this to be miraculous....

“...a new day was starting, the things of the garden were not concerned with our troubles. A blackbird ran across the rose-garden to the lawns in swift, short rushes, stopping now and again to stab at the earth with his yellow beak. A thrush, too, went about his business, and two stout, little wagtails, following one another, and a little cluster of twittering sparrows. A gull poised himself high in the air, silent and alone, and then spread his wings wide and swooped beyond the lawns to the woods and the Happy Valley. These things continued, our worries and anxieties had no power to alter them.” ― Daphne du Maurier,

To the end of a year....

Lets travel calmy and strong to the year's end..even when the winds are fierce....because the new year will be a wonderful place to enter...

It is not down in any map; true places never are...

Caress the ocean

Touch the ocean gently
Carry a bird so light
Returning from places covered in snow
Fleeting air of winter
Far away your echo is leaving
Castle in the air
Turn with the wind, swirl around, use your wings
In the grey dawn of the rising sun
Find your way towards the rainbow
Spring will unfold

Touch the ocean gently
Put down the bird so light
On a stone on an island inundated
Fleeting air of winter
Finally your breath is leaving
Far away into the mountains
Turn with the wind, swirl around, use your wings
In the grey dawn of the rising sun
Find your way towards the rainbow
Spring will unfold

Honored..

All through the summer birds visited me in my garden...there seem to be more each day...I am so honored that they come visit me..and I'm so looking forward to a next season of birdwatching..

"I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a moment, while I was hoeing in a village garden, and I felt that I was more distinguished by that circumstance that I should have been by any epaulet I could have worn."
- Henry David Thoreau

My garden is blessed with many many birds...Somewhere...there's a bird on its way home....flying with great speed towards the Hilltop....we are waiting...who will be the first to spot the Swallow....

The day was counting up its birds and never got the answer right.

La Voliere...

No need for me to go and visit a voliere today..the birds are back in my garden..listen....!

Use the talents you possess - for the woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except for the best. ~Henry Van Dyke

Weird..

Weird bird..

Birds are flyin' south for winter.
Here's the Weird-Bird headin' north,
Wings a-flappin', beak a-chatterin',
Cold head bobbin' back 'n' forth.
He says, "It's not that I like ice
Or freezin' winds and snowy ground.
It's just sometimes it's kind of nice
To be the only bird in town."

Shel Silverstein

To you....

To find in thought
What escapes reality,
The love of friendship
Separated by time
And distant space.

I sometimes see a bird
Outside my window
And hope he flies to you.

And Winter arrives on Snowy Wings..

Prayer to the Snowy Owl

Descend, silent spirit;
you whose golden eyes
pierce the grey
shroud of the world—
Marvelous ghost!
Drifter of the arctic night,
destroyer of those
who gnaw in the dark—
preserver of whiteness.

John Haines

Air...

This is what I do first early in the morning..Open a window and let the fresh air fill the room...sometimes a little visiter comes in...And on a branche close by a Robin takes a deep breath and sings an autumn song...

“Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.”

Over the housetops...

Autumn Bird Song

Over the housetops,
Over the trees,
Winging their way
In a stiff fall breeze.

A flock of birds
Is flying along
Southward, for winter,
Singing a song.

Singing a song
They all like to sing,
"We'll see you again
When it's spring, spring, spring."

Bird song..

Dear thoughts are in my mind
And my soul soars enchanted
As I hear the sweet lark sing
In the clear air of the day.
For a tender beaming smile
To my hope has been granted
And tomorrow she shall hear
All my fond heart would say.

I shall tell her all my love
And my soul's adoration
And I think she will hear me
And will not say me nay.
It is this that gives my soul
All its joyous elation
As I hear the sweet lark sing
In the clear air of the day.

There you are...in the middle of the field...took me some time to find you..isn't it beautiful..the blue summer sky..and a lark ascending...

A house filled with birds..

In dutch there is this expresion when its really really warm outside that goes like this,"Het is zo warm dat de mussen van het dak vallen"...Yes..what does this mean I hear you ask..It means that its SOOO hot that the birds are falling from the rooftops...poor little creatures. To be sure this doesn't happen today I invited them in...we will go out again when the sun goes down..Its ever so lovely all this little friends flapping around in my living room..:))

A little weird..

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.

Lady and Owl..

See ,how they look at you ,and stare..
they wonder what you're doing there..
In winter snow,in depth of field
under a clear protecting shield
of starry night and light of moon
you came to chase away the gloom
and grey of a clouded mind
to find a new horizon..of different kind
