Black cat on a friday...

Beware of black cats on a friday..especialy when its the 13th..
Is Friday the 13th bad luck? Beginning in the 17th century, Europeans began referring to Fridays as bad days to start a new project or to travel. The unlucky nature of the number 13 has its roots in the Bible and Christian tradition. So folks started thinking of Friday the 13th as one of the unluckiest days possible. Today, not many people think that Friday the 13th is truly unlucky, except for those suffering from triskaidekaphobia (fear of the number 13) or paraskevidekatriaphobia (fear of Friday the 13th)...

This was very interesting! I wonder. Do people who have black cats have good luck. I know the superstition about having a black cat cross your path and the bad luck it can bring. Thank you. Cathy

Interesting. Funny about the Black Cat - when I was little we used to say that a Black Cat was good luck, if it crossed your path even better. People used to give black cat tokens to brides on their wedding day to bring good luck in their marriage - it was also considered lucky to have a soot covered chimney sweep at your wedding too:)

Hope you are have a happy and lucky friday 13th:)

Very interesting I would develop a phobia for sounding out that phobia

Lacking much superstition, I've always rather enjoyed Friday 13th. And I do love black cats!!
