Midnight Spirit

O wild and wondrous midnight,
There is a might in thee
To make the charmed body
Almost like spirit be,
And give it some faint glimpses
Of immortality.

~James Russell Lowell, Midnight

On warm summernights like the one we have now at the Hilltop today, there is nothing more beautiful then to stay in the garden and watch the sky.
Be there at dusk.Take a seat ..it could be the sofa..its standing on the lawn..or maybe the hammock under the chestnut tree..or just lay in the grass...and then wait until dark!
Listen to the sounds of the garden..crickets..a splash in the pond..it must be Gustave...A summer breeze whispering through the leaves...Sounds that where there for ages and will be there for ever after.....look... the bats are coming out of the chimney...and one by one there they are...the stars...Its a very clear summernight..magical..like in a fairytale..A cloud shifts and there we see the moon...full and majestic.
You can feel ever so small...but still safe and feeling very gratefull...to be there...protected under the sheltering skye..

Oh my dearest faerie friend, I will be there! I will be looking up at the same stars as you will be, just from a distance across the great ocean. Give Gustave and the illustrious Miss M. my love and best wishes for a splendid evening! Anita
