Paroles..Paroles..Paroles..

Entre deux coeurs qui s'aiment, nul besoin de paroles -Two hearts in love need no words-
Desbordes-Valmore

A romantic painting that illustrates two young lovers, a man and a woman pleasantly relaxing under a flowing arch of flowers and vines. Present in the painting are doves. The female is holding above the males head a cage while the man is holding the dove. The woman is also holding a string that is connected to an additional cage of doves. In this painting the two lovers flea the restraints of their world into a secluded destination of peacefulness. There is pleasant blue sky scenery filled with an abundant amount of floating white clouds. They are surrounded by the natural serenity of nature. The two lovers seem content with one another however the woman seems to have a stronger hold on the man. This can be an indication that she is attempting to capture his love but most of all his heart. The dove in the painting represents everlasting love. Seeing that the cage is empty symbolizes that he can be easily replaced. The fact that she has control over the separate cage of doves emphasizes that there are many different fish in the sea. Knowing that he can potentially lose her, the male gazes into the females’ eyes willingly giving his heart to her...
