“To live in this world, you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your heart knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go”
Mary Oliver is my absolute favorite contemporary poet. She truly knows PAIN and joy. She writes with very little indication of BIAS; she observes and does it well. This is our fate...to hold but for a life-time moment and then to let it go in the wind, for the only way we can ever get anything in return IS to let it go.
